Advancing the “Africa Clean Air Programme” through Africa-Asia Collaboration.
This event is an opportunity for Asian Countries and African countries to jointly advance air quality monitoring and clean air solutions – specifically through the “Africa Clean Air Programme” (ACAP). It is being co-organized by the Ministry of the Environment, Japan (MOEJ), Climate & Clean Air Coalition (CCAC), UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and Asia Pacific Clean Air Partnership (APCAP). The event will: Showcase ACAP as a continent-wide, Africa-led response to air pollution and climate challenges, anchored in strong regional and national action. Provide updates on ACAP’s development, including the continental roadmap and efforts to establish a political and institutional framework through the AUC and RECs. Highlight country-level progress, particularly in Ghana and Senegal, where air pollution is being integrated into Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and national policy, with CCAC support.
